La famiglia Marinelli & Velissima

THE MARINELLI FAMILY

Originally from Ischia, Italy, the ‘Famiglia Marinelli’ manages the Velissima Barcelona restaurant located at Marina Vela port.

The restaurant is more than just a place to eat; it offers a comprehensive experience thanks to the diverse skills and passions of the family members.

La famiglia Marinelli & Velissima

Luciano, the chef, creates exquisite dishes and also entertains with recommendations and magic tricks. Stefano brings design and fashion to the table, suggests the best dishes, and liven up the atmosphere with his dancing.

Francesca is the organizer and accountant, ensuring everything runs smoothly and that customers feel welcomed. Giacomo, the host, greets diners with elegance and serenades them with crooner songs.

Caterina adds art and harmony by painting dessert-themed pictures and creating a positive ambiance. Chiara, the youngest, brings youthful energy, serves as a translator, and elevates the entertainment with her roller-skating skills.

Galileo, the eccentric inventor, adds humor and joy with his antics and tricks. And then there’s Rosetta, the beautiful fortune teller of the family, who is also a talented dancer.

The family’s story began with Grandpa ‘Nono’ Giuseppe and Grandma ‘Nona’ María, who decided to unite all their grandchildren and their mothers in Ischia. After their passing, the grandchildren decided to move to Barcelona, initially setting up beach bars in Barceloneta.

The initial success allowed them to expand and eventually open Velissima Barcelona, which has become a tribute to their roots and the creativity of each family member.

The boat at the entrance of the restaurant is a replica of Grandpa ‘Nono’ Giuseppe’s original boat.
